November 10, 1995 at The Surfwood Bar in Calistoga ,CA. A 26 year old walks into the bar, sees a woman in a striped shirt sitting at the bar and yelled “TOUCHDOWN”. At the time, she was annoyed that this man was inferring that she resembled a referee, but little did they both know; this moment was the beginning of their forever.

From that moment on, April and John were inseparable and one short year later, became Mr. and Mrs. Garcia. They started their family right away and welcomed a little girl in 1997 named Hope. Two years later, they welcomed another little girl named Savannah. Their family was finally complete. As their girls grew, their family outgrew their small home in Calistoga and made the decision to move across the country to North Carolina to better their girls’ futures and their own.

As April and John got settled into their new lives in North Carolina, April began to bring her dream of designing spaces to life, as she got a new home to decorate that was purely her own blank canvas. This sparked her interest in interior design and bringing curated pieces together to make any space within a home an inspiration.

As time went on, this dream kept getting bigger and bigger but the timing was never right. One night while indulging in a few too many glasses of wine and whiskey, April told John that now would be the perfect time to bring her dreams to life and open her own home decor store. As the words flew out of April’s mouth, John was all for it.

As the business was created and all of the legalities were being finalized, John and April found the perfect storefront and with a little TLC, they knew that this space would become the place that would bring this long awaited dream to reality.
